UPDATE #6 - LONG ROAD TO RECOVERY                                  Aug. 3, 2021

All street projects are currently out for bid.  The sealed bid deadline is Thursday, August 12th at 2pm.  The bids will be publicly opened and read aloud the same day. 

Currently the following streets will require subgrade concrete stabilization rehabilitation with hot mix asphalt paving.  (Streets are in no order)

  • Wildewood Drive
  • Crowfoot Drive
  • Pioneer Trail
  • Miller’s Crossing
  • Chaucer Lane
  • Shelby Lane
  • Memory Lane

The following streets are scheduled for street point repairs.  A street point repair is not a full lane or curb to curb repair.  It’s repairing a localized defect within the pavement surface.

UPDATE #5 - LONG ROAD TO RECOVERY

Progress is being made in the development of road repairs.  All cut sheets and planning documents are prepared for bid with one exception – Wildewood Drive.  The Engineer continues to work on a drainage solution for the installation of sidewalks.

Update on the road repairs was presented to the City Council on Tuesday, May 11th.  Engineering phase of the project is currently underway and once that is completed the projects will be let out for bid.   The repair work will focus on five of the high traffic collector streets. 

Street point repairs will also be a priority on the collector streets.  A street point repair is not a full lane or curb to curb repair.  It’s repairing a localized defect within the pavement surface.

March 22, 2021

UPDATE #3 – LONG ROAD TO RECOVERY

The City has contracted with an engineer to provide specifications of work and engineer’s estimate of cost in preparation for bidding the street repair. Those results are anticipated back in a few weeks for staff’s review.

Once those are approved, the plans for street repairs will be released for bid. The tentative start date for major road rehabilitation is late July to early August 2021.

UPDATE #2 – LONG ROAD TO RECOVERY

The City has completed its review of repairs needed on major collector streets damaged from the winter storm. The City has contracted with an engineer to provide specifications of work and engineer’s estimate of cost in preparation for bidding the street repair work out.

The City will utilize reserve funds within this current budget year to begin the repairs this year. It is the City’s desire to have repair work beginning early summer 2021.

A Collector street is defined as a street up to three lanes which carries traffic from Minor Streets, including residential streets, to the Arterial Street system.

Your City street crews will continue to work on the residential potholes throughout this year.
