The Harker Heights Knight Watch Program ensures that your park system is a safe place to play, take leisurely walks, and enjoy picnics and family. By keeping a watchful eye on nearby parks and reporting improper activities to law enforcement authorities, local neighbors and users can help keep their parks healthy and wholesome places for all to enjoy. Through this program, concerned citizens like you can help detect and report unlawful activities as well as maintenance issues.

Knight Park Watch is :
Crime prevention program that:
· Trains citizens on the importance of recognizing suspicious activities and how to report them.
· Development of a cohesive body of concerned citizens addressing issues that affect the entire community.

Knight Park Watch is NOT:
· A vigilante force.
· A program designed for participants to take personal risks to prevent or to intervene in crime.
· A 100% guarantee that crime will not occur in the Harker Heights Parks system.

Purpose:
Assistance in insuring the preservation and safety of our parks system, while establishing an active partnership between park users. Harker Heights Parks & Recreation Department and the Harker Heights Police Department.

How it works:
As a park neighbor or user, you simply serve as the extra “eyes and ears” of the park by reporting any suspicious activities to the law enforcement authorities or report maintenance issues to the Harker Heights Parks & Recreation Department. Any citizen, who wishes to report an incident in-progress or any emergency, should immediately contact 911 communications center.
