City of Harker Heights Announces Temporary Closure of Municipal Court and Finance Services for System Upgrades
UPDATED: The City of Harker Heights will be conducting significant computer system upgrades on Wednesday, August 5, and Thursday, August 6, requiring temporary closures of certain City services during normal business hours. To allow our outside vendors to complete the upgrades and ensure a successful transition to the updated systems, the following City services will be unavailable on both days:
- Municipal Court
- Payment of fines
- Entry of pleas
- Court-related customer service transactions
- Finance Department / Utility Billing
- Utility account inquiries
- Water bill payments
- New utility service setup/Transfers
- Planning – In house payments
- Pet Adoption Center – Adoptions & Financial Donations
- Library – Fines & Fees
- Parks & Recreation – Payments
The system upgrades are designed to improve the reliability, security, and efficiency of City operations and customer service. These upgrades must be completed during normal business hours so City staff and installers can verify that all systems are communicating properly with banks, software providers, and other partner agencies. Performing the work during the day ensures that support teams from all organizations are available to assist immediately if any issues are discovered. We do apologize for the inconvenience.
Residents are encouraged to plan accordingly and complete any time-sensitive court or utility transactions before August 5 or after services resume. All affected departments are expected to reopen and resume normal operations on Monday, August 10. The City appreciates the community's patience and understanding as these improvements are completed.
