CODE OF CONDUCT
Participation in youth athletic activities will introduce your child to the fundamentals of each sport, while instilling teamwork and good sporting conduct in a non-competitive environement.
In the spirit of good sporting conduct, participants shall:
Conduct themselves in a manner that represents the City of Harker Heights and the Parks and Recreation Department with honor, dignity, and respect. Demonstrate the qualities of civility and good sporting conduct at all times. Do not use vulgar, abusive, racist, sexist, demeaning, or intimidating language at any time. Support the players, coaches, and officials in a positive manner. Treat the other teams, coaches, and fans with courtesy and respect at all times. Do not engage in cheers that are vulgar, crass, or demeaning. Refrain from throwing objects for any reason. Do not become inebriated or belligerent. Refrain from entering playing and team areas at any time, including after the game.

Youth Sports 2024 Sports Calendar
Adult sports are available whether you are looking for exercise or just to have a good time with friends. Individuals will register and pay as teams.
Adult Adaptive Sports
Days & Times: Wednesdays, 9 am - 12:45 pm & Fridays, 2 pm - 4:45 pm
Location: Recreation Center Gymnasium, 307 Miller's Crossing
The Harker Heights Hustlers compete in tournaments around the State of Texas and we are always looking for new athletes to be a part of our team. Please contact the Recreation Center if interested, 254.953.5657.
There are many more adaptive sports that we want to bring to this area and with the right resources and involvement, there are no limits. Kayaking, Fencing, Tennis, and Pickle Ball are just a few of the sports that we want to offer in our Adaptive program. Please call or check back at a later date to see how we've grown.
Youth Adaptive Sports
We understand the time and dedication it takes to be a volunteer coach for a Harker Heights recreation league. Below are several tasks you will be expected and/or required to do while coaching in our leagues.
- Complete and pass a background check
- Complete NAYS training and attend other training sessions offered by Parks and Recreation
- Attend coaches meeting
- Remain with the team for the duration of the season
- Turn in equipment at the end of the season
